Design System, artificial intelligence, and the future of interaction
With more natural, conversational experiences on the rise, does it still make sense to have interfaces filled with so many buttons?

We are witnessing increasingly interesting leaps in the capabilities of natural language models, which enable sophisticated conversational experiences, unlike the struggles we were used to facing with chatbots.
This interaction model tends to be more accessible, has an infinitely smaller learning curve, and is also much more efficient. This leads us to an inevitable provocation: what is the role of the Design System in this new scenario?
At Meiuca, we have always believed that a Design System is much more than well-documented components – it is a set of standards that ensures consistency and scalability for digital products. But what happens when the visual interface is no longer the main means of interaction?
The rise of conversational interfaces may make classic UI elements "less relevant" and cause design systems to incorporate dialogue patterns, even more sophisticated definitions of tone of voice, best practices for interactions within the conversational flow itself, and even more basic guidelines for creating an experience based on artificial intelligence.
How are those provocations going in your company? We can help evolve your Design System (or even create one from scratch) to ensure that you are prepared for the future of interaction.
